Once in a lifetime - the CSFP endowment fund appeal
In 2009, the 50th anniversary year of the CSFP, a new endowment fund has been established to support scholarships hosted by low and middle income Commonwealth countries. The new CSFP endowment fund will:
- build on the reputation of one of the world’s most prestigious scholarship schemes
- open a new channel of collaboration between developing Commonwealth countries
- provide unique opportunities for students from developed Commonwealth countries to study in new destinations
- help in the development of host universities, by providing a route to attract high quality international talent
This will be a new and distinctive strand of activity for the Plan, in partnership with the governments and universities of Commonwealth countries. The appeal brochure provides further information.
His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales is Patron of the endowment fund appeal, which was launched at the 17th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers. The fund has already raised over £1.7 million. Further contributions from governments, alumni and others committed to the cause of new educational opportunities in the Commonwealth are warmly welcomed.
